Each year, musicians of the Greensboro Symphony perform small ensemble concerts in every Guilford County Schools elementary school. In-School Ensembles perform at over 75 schools every year from January through March. Performances by the Brass Quintet, String Quintet, Woodwind Quintet, and Percussion Trio are heard by 12,000 third- and fourth-grade students in Guilford County!
Presentations last approximately 45 minutes and include opportunities for students to ask questions about the music. These performances introduce students to the instruments of the orchestra, prepare the students for the full orchestral performances they will later attend, and encourage students to begin studying a musical instrument.
