You will choose. Each of our Magnificent Maestros was carefully chosen based on their artistic range, global perspective, diversity, and dynamic leadership—but only one will become the GSO’s new Music Director.

Robert Moody

Robert Moody is in his seventh season as Music Director of The Memphis Symphony Orchestra and eighteenth season as Music Director of Arizona Musicfest.  Under his artistic leadership, the Memphis Symphony has also enjoyed exponential growth in programming, recording, new commissions, and endowment growth to over $25 million. AZ Musicfest has become the premiere Winter Music Festival in North America, boasting a festival orchestra roster comprised of players from the world’s greatest orchestras.

Donato Cabrera

Mexican-American conductor Donato Cabrera is the Artistic and Music Director of the California Symphony and the Music Director of the Las Vegas Philharmonic. He served as the Resident Conductor of the San Francisco Symphony and the Wattis Foundation Music Director of the San Francisco Symphony Youth Orchestra from 2009-2016.

Leslie Dunner

Dr. Leslie B. Dunner is currently conductor of the Interlochen Arts Academy Orchestra. He is also interim artistic director of the South Shore Opera Company, where he has been music director since 2014, and resident conductor of New Jersey’s Trilogy: An Opera Company since 2018. His stirring performances with the Long Beach Opera of Anthony Davis’ historical work The Central Park Five received the 2020 Pulitzer Prize in Music.

Christopher Dragon

Australian conductor Christopher Dragon is the Music Director of the Wyoming Symphony Orchestra and Resident Conductor of the Colorado Symphony. He joined the Colorado Symphony in the 2015/2016 Season as Associate Conductor – a position he held for four years. For three years prior, Dragon held the inaugural position of Assistant Conductor with the West Australian Symphony Orchestra, which gave him the opportunity to work closely with Principal Conductor Asher Fisch.

Chelsea Tipton II

American conductor Chelsea Tipton II has won over audiences and critics with his vibrant musicality, versatility, accessibility, and commitment to art education. He served as Resident Conductor of the Toledo Symphony Orchestra for seven exceptionally successful seasons and was Associate Conductor of the Savannah Symphony Orchestra for four seasons. He is currently in his fifteenth season as Music Director of the Symphony of Southeast Texas and ninth season as Principal Pops Conductor with the New Haven Symphony Orchestra.

Evan Feldman is entering his second year as Principal Guest Conductor for the GSO, where he will lead the orchestra’s educational concert series, annual holiday programs, and select pops shows.
